Dying Embers 1-12

Panel 1: The skeleton in the pointed hat is looking at Norma sitting at the bar as the bartender talks to her. Panel 2: The skeleton sets his hat on the bar next to her and cries out, "Barkeep! A shot of whiskey for myself and another for my friend here." Panel 3: The woman tips back her beer while the skeleton says, “It’s a helluva trip to get out here, but I ain’t sore at ya for makin’ me come all this way.” The bartender places two shots on the bar. Panel 4: The woman sneers without making eye contact and says, “Oh good… I was tearing myself up over that.” The skeleton leans in and says, “Hehe… The gang’s outside itchin’ for a fight, and I don’t think either of us wants that, right? Panel 5: The skeleton leans back and says, “Ain’t gotta keep playin’ this game, Norma… Ya can just come with me and skip all the hassle. Panel 6: The skeleton leans on the bar with crossed arms and asks, “How’s that sound to you?” Panel 7 and 8: Closeup of Norma’s eyes on the left looking at the skeleton on the right who is staring back.
